Urushiya

越前おろしそば/The Big 3 Gourmet of Echizen

「Urushiya」 was founded in the Edo period.
They switched from selling lacquer to a buckwheat noodle shop, and are credited with inspiring the name “Echizen soba” when the Emperor Showa visited.
It was regrettably closed 20 years ago, but in 2019, Bunshichiemon Shoten took over the 「Urushiya」 sign and reopened for business.
The signature dish, Nadai Oroshi Soba, is kneaded with matcha green tea.
The soba kaiseki served in the restaurant, which is more than 100 years old, is also very popular and can be used for celebrations, banquets, receiving ceremonies, such as a betrothal gift and other special occasions.
